Static websites
Most of the users are not cleared about static vs dynamic websites.
The static website is created with HTML and CSS and all the pages
created manually. You can use software such as Dreamweaver that
facilitates the work, but the process is slow and difficult. For
example, a website consist of 100 pages takes lot of time to create,
because we have to create each page manually. The disadvantage is
obvious, because the slightest mistake will change implies that all
pages. And the same applies to the design, so if you want to change the
theme of the static site, you need to modify all pages even if the CSS
allows you to centralize the process.
However, there are cases where static pages are needed, especially
for mobile sites. These types of sites use special tags that are not yet
available on dynamic sites unless you have solid programming skills.
When I compare static vs dynamic websites, dynamic websites have more
value than static websites.
Dynamic sites
A dynamic site is composed of two parts, the database that contains
the content and the public part that displays that content. This
separation provides flexibility for webmasters that can change the
design according to their needs without affecting the main content.
Moreover, security is optimal since the databases are very secure.
Previously it was necessary programming skills to create dynamic sites,
but nowadays solutions called CMS offer up websites in minimal time. CMS
Content Management System means or content management system. The
principle is that the user can concentrate on content creation and CMS
will handle the technical part. It does not need to write a single line
of code to receive a professional website.
Among the most popular CMS include WordPress, Joomla and Drupal.
WordPress is dedicated to blogs, but all type of websites can be created
by it . Joomla is intended for beginners, while Drupal suitable for
large sites.
Combine dynamic and static site
CMS designers realized that they should keep their tools versatile,
which is why they provide options for integrating static pages in their
CMS. This allows to benefit from the dynamic site while offering special
pages for certain types of content. Whether you choose static or
dynamic sites, you must learn HTML and CSS, as these two types of sites
use them at different levels. In addition, HTML 5 and CSS 3 standards
will become in the future and these two new languages allow you to
create high performing sites and even web applications. Therefore, those
who learn these languages now have a step ahead when these standards
will become standard in website creation.
